The Architectural Designer is responsible for independently performing a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural design for projects of small to medium size and complexity or selected segments of a larger project. This role performs analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies, and creates limited design layouts. This position is responsible for assisting with the designing, coordinating, detailing, and administering of all facets involved, working with the project team and project consultants, from visioning to conceptual design through the submission of all construction documents. The Architectural Designer prepares project specifications by compiling and analyzing relevant data, writing reports, drafting plans, estimates, and calculations.

This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of relevant and related project experience.

What You’ll Do

We are looking to add a talented Architectural Designer with at least 3 years of experience to join our team. Our ideal candidate is someone who has specific project-related experience, enjoys focusing on a variety of aspects of architectural design, and loves collaborating with our passionate team of designers for high-quality design execution. This individual is naturally curious, striving to always better themselves and the firm. Excited by opportunities to undertake a variety of assignments for small projects or selected segments of larger project designs at Pure Architects, this candidate will receive mentorship of senior staff to develop design concepts. The Architectural Designer l will conduct analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies to create preliminary design layouts. This individual creatively prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data, writing reports, drafting plans, estimates, and calculations and oversees the submission of construction documents to produce high performing design outcomes for our clients. In this role, you will:

 
  • Continue to ignite your passion for design by supporting the project team from kick off to completion in a variety of design project assignments. You’ll be excited by each opportunity to learn and collaborate with architects, designers, engineers, and technicians as you use digital tools to create design plans for foundations, buildings, and structures while also drafting bidding and permitting documents to achieve project objectives and deadlines with innovation and accuracy! 
  • Use your professional architecture experiences, knowledge of environmental design, and NAAB Accredited degree to intentionally apply building codes, energy codes, construction methods and sequencing, and select various building materials to create high-quality design standards and smart build outcomes that deliver low-impact, adaptable, and healthy spaces for our clients and their communities. Professional Architectural License is not required, but preferred. LEED, LFA, and/or WELL Certification preferred.
  • Lean into your ability to build trust with others. You will use your high emotional intelligence and presentation skills to uphold and implement Pure’s standards for designing narratives, developing Punch-lists, Field Reports, and submitting other construction documentation with a strong attention to detail and have the ability to set the right expectations and priorities for activities throughout each project with remarkable precision. At the same time, you will collaborate to introduce solutions to our clients and industry partners that excite, uplift, and inspire all those involved! 
  • Apply your enthusiasm for sustainability, fascination and knowledge of cost estimates to collaborate with Architects or other senior teammates to establish project allocation numbers, review data, and identify trends to create contracts that align with our cost management strategy that supports the complexity of each design project, bringing designs to fruition.
  • Collaborate with and support our Senior Architect and Creative Director and/or Principal in Charge of the project to visit job sites to gather data needed to complete designs and file project documentation. You’ll help execute projects across the organization and the region. You will delight in developing leadership skills by occasionally stepping in to help the Project Lead prepare for and facilitate project strategy activities and project planning meetings.
