Design Architect
The Design Architect is responsible for independently performing a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural design for projects of small to medium size and complexity or selected segments of a larger project. This role performs analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies, and creates specific design layouts. This position is responsible for leading the designing, coordinating, detailing, and administering of all facets involved, working with the project team and project consultants, from visioning to conceptual design through the submission of all construction documents, and construction contract administration. The Design Architect prepares project specifications by compiling and analyzing relevant data, writing reports, drafting plans, estimates, and calculations.
This position requires a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant and related project experience. Architectural licensure is required for this position.

What You’ll Do
The Design Architect is responsible for focusing on design excellence, team leadership, and high-quality project execution at various scales. This individual is naturally curious, striving to always better themselves and the firm, researching, and benchmarking best practices to support creative and innovative designs at Pure Architects.
- Plans, designs, and executes projects at various scales, with varying complexity, under minimal supervision acting as a design leader
- Leads, visions, plans, and coordinates programming efforts to effectively guide a team through schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and permitting, and construction/ contract administration
- Develops elegant and effective design solutions for our clients, leveraging your lived experiences to thoughtfully apply building codes, energy code, construction methods and sequencing, and various building materials to influence and create high-quality design standards and build outcomes
- Collaborates with architects, designers, engineers, and technicians to achieve project objectives and deadlines with quality and accuracy
- Uses thought leadership and best practices to Implement design techniques, tailoring solutions for each project and client
- Assigns and delegates workload and resource assignments to internal and external partners
- Communicates verbally, graphically, and in writing with all internal/external project participants, vendors, and partners
- Leads and coordinates the documents and clarification efforts as well as submittal review and site observations during bidding and construction administration
- Leads the review of cost estimates internally and from construction partners with a deep understanding of industry standard processes
- Acts a project co-manager, proactively mitigates risk and removes unnecessary complexity in design concepts and detailing
- Creates and conducts presentations to the team and clients and steps in to run team meetings in the absence of the Project Lead
